Spanish Language Immersion Course for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language

The course has a practical and participative focus in order to address the points which present the biggest difficulty for speakers of Spanish as a foreign language paying attention to the needs of the participants from the double perspective of their role as teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language and users of the language.
TARGET GROUPS
Non – native teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language, from all levels of education who want to update and improve their linguistic ability in Spanish in order to face their teaching with confidence
COURSE OBJECTIVES

Enhance your Spanish language skills, increasing teachers’ confidence in teaching through the medium of Spanish;

Take the opportunity to develop and produce teaching materials as well as learn some practical teaching techniques that can be transferred to their own classroom;

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
- have increased confidence in their use of Spanish in the classroom;
- have a greater awareness of different teaching methods and approaches to be used in order to better help their students learn through the medium of Spanish;
- have produced teaching materials relevant to their subject area and as teachers they will have shared experiences and best practice cases;
- have learnt more about the culture of Spain.
CERTIFICATES AWARDED
- Certificate of attendance including description of training content and time input
- Europass Mobility Certificates – to be issued by the applicant’s National Agency
IMPORTANT NOTE
Face-to-face training takes place every day till around 5 pm. However, after that learning and project work continues by the participants working in teams. This team work is an essential way of learning.
Pre-arrival activities, Impact evaluation and Follow up
Before their arrival, all the participants will be requested to complete a short evaluation questionnaire in relation to their competencies in the course topics. They will be requested to complete a similar questionnaire three months later to assess the impact of the skills acquired in the course (e.g. any feedback from their students, their colleagues or other partners or teachers that they have involved by applying the new practices they have acquired).
Our course trainers will act as mentors to all the participants in our course in order to support them in their new professional prospects in the area of training and education.
